Daily Wisdom Devotion: The Name of Jesus

Philippians 2:9-10, Psalm 111:9, Acts 3:1-16, Luke 1:30-33, John 14:13-14, John 16:23, 24, Ephesians 1:20-22, Acts 2:38, Acts 4:10, 12, Hebrews 1:3, 4

Men and brethren, the scripture says “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth” Philippians 2:9-10. The power in the name of Jesus is not even in saying words, but in understanding and believing all that the name of Jesus Christ signifies. His name represents all of His finished work on the cross, fulfilling God’s plan of redemption and salvation, victory over sin, death, and over the devil’s entire realm. Hallelujah! We are “Protected by His name”. When the name of Jesus Christ is invoked, it carries all of the power and distinction God gave to it. It carries physical and spiritual energy to stop whatever had stopped your parents, whatever had stopped you in the past and whatever intends to stop your destiny John 14:14

God’s Name is Awesome. The book of Psalm 111:9 says: He has sent redemption to His people; He has ordained His covenant forever; Holy and awesome is His name. The result of consistently thinking about His Awesome name today is that I have a desire to increase my capacity for awesome wonder. Why? Our awesomely awesome God never forgets a promise. Therefore, I want to instill into you a sense of the power, the virtue and the glory of that name that sets us free. If people would only appreciate the power that there is in this name, there is no telling what would happen and there is no limit to what they can become. All things are possible through the name of Jesus. God hath highly exalted Him, and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow. There is power to overcome everything in the world through the name of Jesus. I am looking forward to a wonderful union through the name of Jesus. There is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 3:1-16

The name of Jesus Christ is not a magic word and it was not gotten by lottery. “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.” Luke 1:30-33

Jesus has given believers the right and authority to use his name. This means that you as a child of God have been given the power of attorney. Legally, power of attorney is the authority to act in another person’s behalf, at their request. It is authorization given by one person (Jesus) permitting another (believers) to take action on his (Jesus) behalf. You are no longer an ordinary man; you are no longer anybody but a child of Power John 16:23.

It is by faith in this name above all names, the name of Jesus Christ that people are

Number One:   Saved

Number Two:  Set free from bondage,

Number Three: Healed of sicknesses and diseases, and made whole.

Number Four:   Cast out demons

There is no other name under heaven more powerful or more significant, and this is a dynamic reality that Christians can believe in and have complete confidence in Ephesians 1:21.

The name of Jesus is so marvellous. Peter and John had no conception of all that was in that name; neither had the man, lame from his mother’s womb, who was laid daily at the gate; but they had faith to say, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And as Peter took him by the right hand, and lifted him up, immediately his feet and anklebones received strength, and lie went into the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. God wants you to see more of this sort of thing done. How can it be done? Through His name, through faith in His name, through faith which is by Him.

Right where you are, when you know the God that you serve, you have no reason to be afraid of anything or anyone. He is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End. He always was, He always is, and He always will be unmoved, unchanged, undefeated, and never undone. In fact, He is so great that the world cannot understand him, the armies cannot defeat Him, the schools cannot explain Him, Herod could not kill Him, and the leaders cannot ignore Him. When you fall, He lifts you up! When you fail, He forgives; when you are weak, He is strong. His strength perfects our weakness. When you are afraid, He is your encourager. When you are confused, He counsels you. When you stumble and fall, He keeps you steady. When you are heartbroken, he mends your broken heart. When you are hurt, He is your healer. When you did not have anything to eat, He fed you. When your world was crashing down on you, He was besides you. When you faced problems and went through pain, He comforted you.

But remember, that you will have no power over Satan if you don’t walk in purity. Never allow the devil to pollute your minds in any way. If your mind is impure, you won’t be able to use the Name of Jesus against Satan effectively. The Name of Jesus is not like some magic mantra that can be repeated to ward off evil. No. You have to submit to God first. Only then will the devil flee from you when you resist him.

Your story is about to change for good, it is turning to your glory; At the name of Jesus, the place you have dreaded is about to catch fire; your season is becoming seasoned with Power; your scar shall no longer announce your past failure, regrets and past guilt because it shall be turned into your star; those who saw when you were born in the manger and disrespected you, those who humiliated you in secret places, those who rejoiced when you were in dark places, those who help threw you into the valley where there is no water or ladder shall come back singing your hosanna in the name that is above every other name, in Jesus name

Testimony Time

God is faithful, regardless of what we went through last month. Welcome to the month of “Divine Encounter” We declare that all through this July 2026, we shall not miss divine appointments, divine helpers, divine instructions, or divine opportunities.. Every day of this month shall be dedicated to giving God awesome praise with gladness of heart. Please send in your testimony and your seed.

Concluding Prayer: The Name of Jesus: Awesomely Awesome God, I come into Your presence with humility, and I stand by the authority in the name of Jesus to declare that every demon assigned to monitor my progress, harass me, or humiliate me shall function no more, in the name of Jesus. Let every pain, poison, curse, and yoke that has ruled over my life and generation, hindered my progress, and made me ask, “Where is my God?” be broken now by the power in the name of Jesus. Every power making me work like an elephant but receive the result of a grasshopper, and every force making me regret my existence, I decree that such power is arrested now. From today, my life shall become fruitful. I shall become a voice over principalities and powers. I shall no longer be a noisemaker, but an evidence producer. Miracles shall be in my mouth, and whatever I speak according to the will of God shall come into manifestation. From today, whoever I bless is blessed and protected. Therefore, my future is blessed, and my destiny is garnished with divine blessings. In Jesus’ mighty Name, Amen.🔥🙏✨
