Dr Uma Ukpai -The Secrets of David Part 4

Todays teaching from Dr Uma Ukpai

And David inquired of the Lord; he never went to war without asking God for a direction. Men and brethren, miracle is preparation plus opportunity.

I have seen a lot of folks in crusades want to push me down because they want to tap anointing. Some wants to touch my head in the bid to gain accelerated power. Boy oh boy, everything that God made valuable in the world is covered and hard to get to. Diamonds are found deep down the ground, covered and protected. Pearls are found deep down at the bottom of the ocean, covered up and protected in a beautiful shell. Where do you find gold? Way down in the mine, covered over with layers and layers of rock. You’ve got to work hard to get to them.”

To prepare is the state of being ready; to ready one-self to take whatever action is necessary; to stop lazing about and ready to go. To prepare is to get energy from within, motivate one-self; to ready one-self for spiritual scrutiny that you may become a chosen vessel of honour Prov. 31:17, Acts 9:15; to prepare is to ready oneself for an unpleasant task or experience like Jesus did at the garden of Gethsemane Mark 14:32. To prepare is to ready one-self for a supernatural and superior performance like David in the wilderness learning the dynamics and the mechanics of stone throwing when heaven is involved.

From Genesis to Revelation, our God chose people that were busy doing something. Most of them had a career, they were not losers. It is amazing when people think that Christianity is only for the poor, less privilege, less opportune and the idiots. If Jesus was ordinary he would not have commanded the extraordinary therefore it is only an idiot that follows a man without evidence. The place you are now is because God wants you to learn something from there, that will propel you to the pinnacle of greatness.

Do you know that after David killed Goliath, he did not go to pronounce himself King even after he was anointed by Samuel? Wait for your appointed time. David knew the power of the word of God and surely he would have taken the kingdom by force when he had every opportunity to kill Saul, (1 Samuel 24:10) yet he spared his life. What you don’t respect you cannot possess. He had respect for the throne, he knew the power in the word about touching the anointed of God, Yes Saul was rejected but his calling is without repentance. Romans 11:29.

We must create time to be in the presence of God if we must rule our circumstances. When we are attacked by all sorts of enemies, how do we respond? David and his men lost their properties and wives to their enemies; they cried and cried until there was no strength in them, some people, typical human even thought of stoning him; but the scriptures says he strengthened himself in the lord and sought the face of God, asking God for permission to attack. 1 Samuel 30: 1-9. Most of us will run half naked to the battle and end up becoming losers. The funny thing is that we then return to blame God for disappointing us.

David’s attitude was the prophet of his future and speaker of his present. His attitude commanded his altitude in the things that matters to God. He declared “I will Not give God the offering that cost me nothing’ the secret that was generationally copied by his son, Solomon that made him the wisest and riches man for many generations. We must wait until we hear “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” 1 Samuel 30:8. May heaven grant you the ability to recover all. To be contd
